Here Are My Answers to The 2025 Blog Questions Challenge

One of my favorite bloggers Kev Quirk threw out a challenge post to answer questions about blogging so I decided to answer.

Ahh man i guess that means that avocados are going to be going up in price again...... so now i have to re-think both adding fried eggs to burgers/sandwiches AND making some nice spicy guacamole?

That son of a bitch.

Some solo, semi-uncomfortable looking Jerry performing an absolutely killer version of Reuben And Cerise from 1982. He actually played two solo shows that day too, both with R & C as the encore. Love this version. Happy Thursday

8 years ago when I moved to Seattle I met Dean over at Al’s where he held court behind the bar..now I just heard one of his songs on the radio and not on one of those local college radio stations either. He’s got a voice thats a mix between an old 1950’s crooner with a rough soul country twang you’d only expect to find late night huddled around a campfire on the trail. His success could not have happened to a nicer person…check him out.

50 years ago tonight, #JerryGarcia & merl saunders in #berkeley with saunders’ aunt monk rhythm section. oversaturated in places, but 2 pretty fantastic once-on-tape tunes by weather report & marvin gaye, presumably from aunt monk’s repertoire. nice stereo mix by end, saunders on left & garcia on right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrA6vtsD2f0

Two articles that are great reads and sync up perfectly in explaining the confederacy of dunces and the damaged mindset that controls them:

Brainwash an Executive Today! by Nikhil Suresh [ @ludicity ] about the niche industry in marketing to powerful idiots/linkedin champions -

&

Sam Altman Is A Dunce by Iris Meredith [ @iris_meredith ] which outlines the mindset/drive behind these idiots.

Also - new favorite obsession: https://ihavethatonvinyl.com/

Personal essays from all sorts of people about something vinyl related - from favorite obscure records to specific moments a record bring to mind to all sorts of crazy bits of people's past. It's got Essays, Q&A's and even a section with short stories from the editor/owner (appropriately called Liner Notes). Anyone can submit their own though apparently the backlog is in the hundreds already. There are already some famous folks who have posts on there (To name a quick three - Milligan from Wheatus, Nick Costa and even Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie who talks about how he hates streaming sites because they'll all eventually try to recommend his own band for him to listen to)

The owner/creator doesn't have an active account on the fediverse but is always putting out great music-inspired thoughts/msgs on their bluesky feed: https://bsky.app/profile/ihavethatonvinyl.com

Here's some folks I follow on masto. I pretty much found them on here because I'm a fan of their website/blog. So def. check out the links on their profiles. #followfriday

@amerpie - Lou Plummer - EDU IT guy who talks a lot about osx apps, life and running/hiking (previous Appalachian Trail Thru Hiker).

@chriscoyier - Chris Coyier - Web designer & co-founder of codepen who has a great view on the current and future state of the web (and the tech that runs it)

@textfiles - Jason Scott - Creator of textfiles.com, works for archive.org and posts about cool stuff recently archived.

@molly0xfff - Molly White - creator of web3isgoinggreat.com (and many other sites) - crypto/web3 researcher, journalist and probably the secret crush for many a twitter cryptobro (though they'll pretend to hate her).

@Alice - Alice McFlurry - Funny AF, great photographer and hotdog aficionado.

@robb - Robb Knight - creator of rknight.me and echofeed.app (to name just two), Developer, designer and writer who puts out cool tools online.

Check 'em out, sub to their rss feeds and let the intern push one random commit of his to prod after everyone's already logged out for the weekend.
