Facebook just happens to erroneously classify fundraisers for LGBT groups as suspicious.

Would you believe me if I told you Meta cut off my ability to make donations on their platforms not long after I gave to @translifeline.bsky.social and @thetrevorproject.bsky.social? Because they did. [contains quote post or other embedded content]

Amazing, how city governments are setup to just eat the cost of cars. Nobody could ever run a business like that. #socialism

Saw at least 10 dead young trees along DC streets while biking to work this morning. There are certainly hundreds and hundreds more all over the city. The temps may be a bit nicer today, but the wind and dry air will continue to desiccate plants whether the temps are 82° or 102°.

Water any young trees you can reach! Give them 15 gallons! Clear away weeds and grass from underneath, as those will swallow up any and all water, starving the trees. You can still help keep things from getting worse!

Today I’ve discovered the rage you feel when a former colleague runs away with your project—that said ā€œcolleagueā€ road blocked at every turn for a year+ during research and development—and applies for HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in grant funding without including the folks still actively working on the damn project.

This rage may be deeper than what I’ve felt about all the other notable work I haven’t gotten credit for. Holy god am I livid.

Are #PublicSchool principals and school boards out in the media in full force defending themselves over their own perceived #AbbotElementary slights? Because the volume of #CharterSchool defenses I've seen in the last week or so seems comedically high.

At the same time, there's never a better time than this moment to have that conversation.

Hooooomygoodness do I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the Auditor's report on Vision Zero DC. Need to process them before just spewing them out, and also need to get this off my chest: I had high hopes to help move the needle on some of this stuff in my current professional role and, well, that wasn't really embraced or fostered. It's endlessly frustrating, and for me at least, time's up.

And, holy shit, that cover image. Miss you, love you, Dave.

[unredacted] coming soon. In the meantime, damn this past month has been one hell of a year.

Came out on the excused-from-jury-selection side of voir dire this afternoon. It was for a murder trial, and I'm honestly not sure I would've made it through in one piece emotionally (and I previously served on a federal jury for a cartel member accused of crimes in the US). At any rate, this piece on being an abolitionist summoned to jury duty proved to be useful reading first thing this morning: https://conflicttransformation.substack.com/p/an-abolitionist-summoned-to-jury

Side note: DC Courts still require masks, and for that I am thankful.
