Apple: can you believe Japan and the EU want to FORCE people to use UNSAFE third-party app stores whereas ours is SAFE & CLEAN & SLICK??? 😠😠😠

Also Apple: btw we’re adding more ads to our app store

@marcoarment Hi Marco. Love the Overcast update.

My main gripe with it now is the app icon. IMHO it does not really tak advantage of the glass icon style yet since it’s still based on many thin lines and not panes of layered, frosted glass.

I quickly made something in Icon Composer which I think takes the core of your idea and translates it to glass in a different way. If you want I am happy to send you the document?

When Reporters without Borders started measuring press freedom in 2002, the US was ranked 17th, which many thought was too low.

Under Trump the US is ranked 57th, just above Gambia, and Trump has now signed an executive order to defund NPR and PBS.

@daringfireball ‘Should Microsoft sever all ties to Republican-led states that have made women’s reproductive healthcare illegal? […] Should Microsoft sever all ties to the U.S. federal government, which is now led by a mad tyrant […]?’

Well, yes.

Men will complain about pronouns and then turn around and talk about a boat as if it’s a 1920s noir-film dame they long to caress

Yes, tariffs are a tax, but people don't mention often enough that they are a regressive tax. Taxes on consumer goods tax the poor at a higher rate, as basic necessities are a much larger part of their spending.

If food goes up by 20%, it is a tax on the poor. Rich people won't even notice.
