I stop by #Twitter to see what's going on &, as you would expect, it's just as bad as always. But I'm also reminded of people I like & miss that are still on that site & don't yet want to move elsewhere.
And this is a dilemma we continually face. The world is corrupt & unkind in many ways everywhere. The powerful remain in power (for now). Exploitation & alienation abound. Life is suffering.
BUT there is also beauty & love, mercy & grace. Many still are those who see the person in the other.
I must say I loved listening to this talk. Paul Knitter is a theologian, a former Catholic priest, and someone who has spent many years exploring Buddhism in light of his Christian faith.
He wrote a book called "Without Buddha I Could Not be a Christian" and this talk walks us through the high points of the book.
I highly recommend listening to the whole thing.
