The famed Watling Roll-A-Top Slot Machine was first introduced in 1935.
The unique design with its horn-of-plenty King Midas look was a tremendous success during the middle and late 1930s. The display of coins on the cast aluminum front were actual reproductions of the various early and contemporary American coins.
My contribution to #SilentSunday from a visit to Norway. The bottle green glassy stream had a watercolor quality to it.
I finished piecing the latest wall-hanging using Jean-sophie Wood's 2013 "Bird Block Pattern." If I did it over again, I'd use a neutral background instead of blue batik, but it'd be WAY too much effort to redo at this point. No offense to Ms. Wood, but this was kind of a fussy pattern. I'd probably choose to applique instead next time. It is cute, though!

Today's humble daily #drawing. I'm learning how to use the different types of graphite and color pencils, and how to view the shapes within an object. E.g., how to see light as a smaller shape within the metal shapes.
Saw this random truck the other day and it made my week. No explanation on the truck, it just had a giant mastiff head bursting through its roof as one does.
Rummaging through some luggage, I just ran across this little Welsh doll I had as a kid! My grandma collected dolls from various countries for me in her travels. Though I wasn’t a big doll fan, it was fun to see the outfits. (I really wanted an Indiana Jones whip, but my parents—understandably?—wouldn’t let me get one, lol.)
