I enjoy Mastodon so much more than Twitter. I appreciate the generally kind, supportive, and diverse community here. I am a retired clinical social worker who loves sailing, sewing, knitting, and my husband. I am a progressive who follows politics, the news (in small doses), and cooking.
I finally finished the project from hell. I used (expensive) Polartec Power Shield fabric and a digital Men’s Fleece Jacket pattern—soft shell version—from Wardrobe by Me. I hate to bad-mouth anyone but the pattern was a nightmare! Although I took careful measurements, the jacket was WAY too small. Also, the pattern pieces did not match the instructions. I salvaged the jacket with gussets and am relieved that it turned out. #Sewing
Over the past 2 years I have lost almost 40 pounds. I am now ripping out the seams in pants that I had made in order to alter them to fit. I am using a new-to-me fitting method #TopDownCenterOut#Sewing#Fitting
Making my loaf of #Sourdough rye bread was complicated and a lot of work but it turned out better than expected. I used homemade rye flour starter. The bread is half rye flour/half white bread flour. Now for the taste test… #Baking#Cooking
