@401matthall if you get a chance to go to a good cheese shop, definitely look into getting a cheese with vegetable ash. I'm a big fan.
You can get ones that have it externally (which does act like a protective layer a bit like wax does) or internally, which is more just flavour and a nod to tradition.

Forgive a friendly small infodump - wrapping cheese in wax lets it retain moisture at the right amount for aging, prevents mold and still allows beneficial gas exchange. And the type of wax affects the cheese aging process in different ways too. Cheesemaking is a fun hobby, though I don’t have the patience to age mine much.
I get annoyed at the extra individual wrapping on babybel cheeses. The wax is sufficient, but maybe shops/transport would have to handle them with more care? At least they’re finally changing to paper, the cellophane is awful.
Some days I think that our weekly rpg would be interesting to others and want to make a show out of it… and then other days I think that it’s nice to have something Just Ours. Not to mention that the effort of show production and performance doesn’t feel available.
Maybe I’ll just create a diegetic investigative journalist and write about the setting’s events. Then even if I don’t publicize it, it’ll be useful in-game.
@NinjaNia @farah I got the sleep ones first, then the noise ones later for concerts and events. I find they’re both very comfortable, but in winter, dry ear canals means I risk irritation and infection if I don’t keep them clean. Thankfully they’re super easy to clean.
I find they do very well for traffic masking (I’m not far from a major road), but if I REALLY want isolation, I’ll put on giant yardwork earmuffs. As a side sleeper, those really suck to sleep in though.
