Sad to see my #Mastodon instance https://home.social/ is closing down in 3 weeks 😭

It was my first instance and it's been great.

But troubling that a fairly large instane has had to do this under the budengeoning amount of moderation.

off to find a new one.

Happy #worldgothday 🖤🦇🖤

This is not #France or #Italy, it's #Poland and Bobolice #Castle on Polish Jurassic Highland.

Sorry I've been away for so long, but I'm starting a new project that's quite time consuming.

I watched an earthworm in my garden one day. I stopped whatever I was about to do and really zoomed in on this amazing living being. It carefully explored its surroundings with the tip of its shiny, clean body, and I imagined it could probably feel and smell and taste at the same time, as it was touching the soil softly here and there. Texture, temperature, moisture, acidity… all went into its difficult decisions where to move next.

It was beautiful to watch, and strangely humbling.

What do you get when you cross God of War with Tomb Raider and Big Trouble in Little China?

You get Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death!

I’ve been playing this game on my Steam Deck for hours today, and I’ve been grinning from ear to ear.

In many ways it’s a derivative hack-n-slash.

However, the real reason to play this one is for the hilarious dialogue between Marlow Briggs and King Tep, voiced by Arif S. Kinchen and Steve Blum respectively.

But if that hasn’t convinced you to try this out, how about this: James Hong plays the villain! And he’s firing on all cylinders!

This game is pure low budget fun and silliness – but it’s also full of cheap thrills and style, it really does punch above its weight.

It’s too bad Marlow Briggs never got a sequel. I guess it will remain a hidden gem.

This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim, a Native American from Oklahoma represented the U.S. in track and field.
On the morning of his competitions, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can. That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.

A Star Trek: The Motion Picture comic that I got yesterday, courtesy of Blackbird Comics in Maitland.

I like this aesthetic of Star Trek a lot, so I'm excited for the rest of this miniseries. IDW has done a great job of Star Trek comics, especially the Kelvinverse ones.
