Downloaded #toot app. About $6 bucks. Meh. Prefer the native #Mastodon app.
Elon Musk says there will be three 'verified' Twitter checkmarks: blue, gold, and grey

The plot thickens.

Social Quitting [Popcorn quote]

»And then…Stuff happened. Mark Zuckerberg got worried about losing users and decided we were all going to live as legless low-polygon cartoons in a metaverse that no one wanted to use, not even the Facebook employees who built it. Twitter got bought out by a low-attention-span, overconfident billionaire who started pulling out Jenga blocks to see whether the system would fall over, and when it did, we all got crushed by the falling blocks.

These services had been shaved down to the point where most of us were only a hair’s breadth away from quitting, because all the surplus had been transferred from us and from business users to the companies.

Once things got just a little worse, advertisers and users started to quit, and the long-delayed MySpacing of Facebook and Beboizing of Twitter began.«

After the #Mastodon stampede, I followed everyone and his dog. Now that we have full convos for every subject, I’ll pull back on some of my early follows, just a few, but curate like Twitter. Big difference, at least for me, I don’t give a fig about followERS. I want an early adopter #Twitter experience, where the conversation was king.
Wonderful Anti #Brexit, #Rejoin T shirt based on the brilliant #StevieSmith Smith poem.
#HiveSocial is a tryer, I’ll give it that. But #Mastodon has built serious traction and I’m really digging it. We’ll see how it plays out. I was a huge #Twitter fan, but I can’t see myself going back there. I forget to check it most days.
2 of 2 #classicalmusic #flute #bach …As Julius Baker, who’s recording of the sonatas is still tops, IMO, used to say ”there’s always room for another great player”. I feel the same way about the Everest of our repertoire.
McCall plays very well and the recording is up to TRPTK’s vaunted standard. But after the session, have a listen to Baker or Elaine Shaffer, the two who have conquered the mountain where so many other fine flutists don’t quite reach the summit.
1 of 2 #classicalmusic #flute #bach The new Bach TRPTK recording by the Concertgebouw’s principal flute, Kersten McCall.
McCall’s entertaining notes tell tales of early fears of playing Bach, a well populated club!
These are very musical arrangements by McCall (and a couple of his own compositions) of Bach flute sonatas. And while very pleasant listening, I prefer the originals no matter how many times they’ve been recorded.
TRPTK makes some of the best recordings. Here’s a review of one of them, Martin Van Hees’ marvelous guitar album

Remgewogen—Martin van Hees, guitar/TRPTK — Audiophilia

The new recording from classical guitarist Martin Van Hees (on the TRPTK label), brings together compositional works from prominent Dutch composers: Roderik de Man, Aart Strootman, Jan-Peter de Graaff, Christiaan Richter, Leo Samana, Louis Andriessen, as well as Van Hees himself.
