Today I learnt… there’s indeed a TRRRS connector (albeit 4,4mm diameter) called “Pentaconn” which seems to be popular with the audiophile symmetrical headphones which prefer to be fed balanced audio.

There seems to be only one vendor in existence, Nippon Dics (gnihihihi… 😏) of Japan.
