@windowseat @jmarthaler I think your theory makes sense! It wasn't that long after I'd imagine. I also have a vague recollection of the World Series, but I was only 7. Those memories are 2 of maybe 10 total memories I can think of before I went to middle school, haha.
@jmarthaler hopefully she was just able to hang out inside and wait it out!
@jmarthaler it was interesting to learn more about it. I somehow (born in 84) hadn't heard of that storm\those storms. Thankfully my parents moved us here in time for the Halloween blizzard, haha.
@jmarthaler I'd have to dig pretty deep on that one, but I'm guessing it was two actual separate storm systems that came back to back.
Re: big storm, still looking like 14" between Tuesday night and Thursday midday conservatively, and closer to 25" on the high end. I have seem some model outputs closer to 28". Get ready to see our Top 10 list of storms frequently over the next several days! #mnwx #mn #mnastodon

@fade there are some models showing 15" or more of snow between the two rounds, so I'd say it's leaning that way for sure!

Unfortunately, we're heading out of town so we'll be doing cleanup and then leaving instead of enjoying the fresh stuff.

After two days of forecast model alignment, I think it's starting to be safe to say it looks like a pretty significant winter storm is coming Wednesday to Thursday to Minneapolis and much of MN. Looks like 1"+ of liquid water, which could mean 10"+ of total snow. #MNWX #mnastodon #mn
Looking at extended forecast models (the European ECMWF's extended weekly charts), it's looking like MN is forecasted to be near average/average that second week of February, when we'd typically see those ultra-cold snaps we're familiar with. Keep your fingers crossed! #mnwx #mn #mnastodon
@fade I'm 100% in favor of your positive outlook on snow. I hope it stays!
