Re: big storm, still looking like 14" between Tuesday night and Thursday midday conservatively, and closer to 25" on the high end. I have seem some model outputs closer to 28". Get ready to see our Top 10 list of storms frequently over the next several days! #mnwx #mn #mnastodon
Looking at extended forecast models (the European ECMWF's extended weekly charts), it's looking like MN is forecasted to be near average/average that second week of February, when we'd typically see those ultra-cold snaps we're familiar with. Keep your fingers crossed! #mnwx #mn #mnastodon
Alright, just as soon those of us who actually shoveled in Minneapolis see clear sidewalks -- that 3-5" of snow chance looks to be on track for the Twin Cities and much of central/SE MN. Timing looks like starting around 1 a.m. in MPLS, moves out mostly late AM Thursday. #mnwx #mn #mnastodon
We're still dealing with whatever you'd call this storm in MN, and already the next one is on deck. Looking like 3-5" in Minneapolis overnight Wednesday night to Thursday. #mnwx #mnastodon #mn
Quite a bit of water locked into that snow we have in MN right now -- those pinks and brighter purples indicate anywhere from 2" to 6"+ of satellite estimated liquid water trapped in our snow. Will be something to watch when (or if?) we get spring temps in 1-2 months. #mnwx #mnastodon
Looks like somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/10" of an inch of ice out there this morning at MSP. Metro Transit buses cancelled until roads clear and dozens of cars in crashes. Today is a studded bike tire-only day. #mnwx #mnastodon
Little patch of freezing drizzle/light snow moves through central MN overnight tonight. Seems like it'll start out as light freezing drizzle around midnight, then transition to light snow just in time for morning rush as it moves out by 8-9 a.m. #mnwx #mnastodon

We're up to 48.1" of snow this winter through midnight. That makes this the 3rd snowiest start to winter for MSP since 1884 and the snowiest since 1992. #mnwx #mnastodon

Thanks to @dkayserwx for these stats via Paul Douglas:

Basically all of SW MN's highways are closed due to blizzard conditions. Unreal. #mnwx #mnastodon
What are you all experiencing right now from where you live? Here's the latest from the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities. Wind chill values near -32°. #mnwx #mnastodon
