Alchemy is only ever going to get better and it is improving every year.

Soon Alchemy will make goldminers obsolete.

Where do you go to find older design inspiration?

There are a lot of sites collecting material with the newest trends, but is there something collecting the best of visual design from the 2000s or 2010s?

I know the Web Design Museum, but that's pretty limited to a few collections and usually older than 25y old websites.

Today we’re quietly (and finally!) opening up Railfinder to the public! This is our beta version and - hopefully - the first step towards that one booking site for trains across Europe that we all dream of.

Lots of work has gone into this and equally lots still to do before reach that vision, but if you’d like to try what we’ve built you can now just go to https://www.railfinder.eu and have a go!

Any and all feedback more than welcome 🙏

Something that’s been bothering me for years in the security world: why do researchers demand bug bounties for vulnerabilities in open source projects, when the very contributors maintaining and fixing those issues get nothing, just goodwill?

It feels deeply unfair. The burden falls on unpaid maintainers, yet bounty hunters get rewarded. If you want a paid bounty, maybe help fund the people who actually fix the mess too.

so cute
I love how gmail marks some emails from my own domain as spam

Here's an overview of the public transport data that goes into #Transitous via #GTFS, #GBFS and #OSM, and how you can help to extend this in your region: https://volkerkrause.eu/2025/06/14/transitous-adding-data.html

Any improvement there benefits applications like #GNOME Maps, #KDE Itinerary or #Träwelling.

Adding public transport data to Transitous

I had mentioned a number of new Transitous features in a previous post. As those largely depend on the corresponding data being available, here’s an overview...

I finally cleaned up and released my Hugo preview plugin for #KDE's Kate on Invent:

It's available on my COPR if you're using a Fedora-based distribution:
