Until his death yesterday, Michael Gerson was my favorite living presidential speechwriter. It still blows my mind we went from this to Trump for the GOP. #politics #speechwriting
@brianbeutler It's not an unfair critique. The one thing I'd push back on is the party's won-loss record in the House. Not the facts--but let's not overlook who drew most districts in 2001 & 2011. That makes her 2016 & 2018 wins even more impressive. But again ... fair points through. And in both chambers (and in the states), we're ceding too much geography. Acres don't vote, but in this federal republic, acres get some power.
