A good critique of MacOS new menu icons https://tonsky.me/blog/tahoe-icons/

It highlights @scottjenson 's point from https://youtu.be/1fZTOjd_bOQ?si=eBP04-Yp3Z1Qf_Wm on how desktop UX keeps getting worse, not better.

It’s hard to justify Tahoe icons

Looking at the first principles of icon design—and how Apple failed to apply all of them in macOS Tahoe

@krishnadraws Bonus: all the control points on that icon are draggable!

@macgarden This came with Apple keyboards — they didn’t have their own manual, and everything you needed to know about them (how to plug them in, what the keys did) was covered in your computer’s manual.

A similar sheet came with Apple graphics cards (since expansion card installation is covered in your computer’s manual).

@thomasfuchs If you’re willing to donate them, I’ll pay to have them shipped to the Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment, a non-profit video game preservation museum in Oakland, CA
