Union jobs provide economic and class advancement over generations. That's why billionaires and their Republican minions are so desperate to kill them.

I see some leftists saying things that are total nonsense about Ukraine; such as how the country is being manipulated into ties with Nato.

It strikes me how westsplaining is a fundamentally lazy stance, designed to protect the ego with minimum effort.

It allows people who only know about their own western country, plus know about USA from media, to have a comfortable opinion about Ukraine without actually needing to learn about the dynamics of eastern Europe.

Now that I've settled into Mastodon/Fediverse a bit, I've been thinking about the 1000 character limit in terms of micro fiction.

I'm sure that's not a new idea, but that doesn't make it a bad idea.

I'm paying attention - I swear. My mind just has a very aggressive cache algorithm.

* Make software that works on older devices, the older the better.
* Make software that will keep on working for a very long time.
* Make software that uses the least amount of total energy to achieve its results.
* Make software that also uses the least amount of network data transfer, memory and storage.
* Make software that encourages the user to use it in a frugal way.

On a platform/technology built on #decentralized (& frankly #anarchist) principles, it's fascinating how many comments suggest solutions to prevalent cultural issues with calls for increased authority and centralization. These aren't the only solutions suggested, and there are far better ones mentioned, but it is fascinating how frequently centralized & authoritarian solutions are insisted upon. Like the history of #Anarchism in a nutshell.
