Five years ago today, one of the three best #StarWars films ever produced was released. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, THE LAST JEDI is only equalled by ROGUE ONE in beauty and moral complexity. Perhaps its greatest achievement is the Luke Skywalker/Kylo Ren duel, which finally depicts a Jedi capable of victory through non-violence -- an approach that got Johnson maligned by toxic fandom that viewed Luke's deception weak rather than a peacemaker's masterstroke.
