If you accomplished ~anything~ academically during the pandemic, such as:

• submitted an application
• earned a degree
• passed a class
• did research
• learned something
• taught somebody
• submitted a manuscript
• stuck with it
• changed course
• set healthy boundaries
• figured out what works for you
• helped a colleague

you did it in Very Hard Mode, and I salute you!

If you got your butt kicked, you’re not alone 💜

I'm Christina, I'm an atmospheric scientist researching #aerosols and #climate. I'm a #tenuretrack research professor at the Finnish Meteorological Institute and University of Helsinki.

I combine in-situ observations of aerosols and global scale models with the aim of reducing radiative forcing uncertainty.

The American Indian College Fund is an excellent organization that invests in Native students as well as tribal colleges! I went to a fundraiser earlier this year and heard some amazing stories; today is a great day to send a donation their way: https://engage.collegefund.org/page/22097/donate/
On this Thanksgiving Day, I encourage you to become familiar with the Native peoples whose land you reside on and to express your gratitude for their stewardship of this land. You can find that information at this website. https://native-land.ca/
Native-Land.ca | Our home on native land

Native Land is a resource to learn more about Indigenous territories, languages, lands, and ways of life. We welcome you to our site.

Question: does anyone have a list of environmental funds, groups, or orgs that would be good choices for end of year donations? Looking for those which actually get a sizeable portion of the donation to use for causes or efforts (rather than admin costs). Suggestions welcome!
