🌋🌊 Deep-sea researchers from the #Ocean Exploration Trust discovered a unique "yellow brick road" formation on the Liliʻuokalani Ridge.

Located over 1,000 meters deep, the rectangular patterns are actually fractured hyaloclastite rock. The volcanic formation helps scientists understand the #marine #ecosystems within the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.
