HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!

Eleven years ago this month, some anti-fascists on Tumblr wrote to each other to put together a collective account dedicated to reporting on anti-fascist activities around the world, supporting anti-fascists, and promoting the tenets of anti-fascism however they could.

Since June 2014, Antifa International has expanded to reach over 142,000 people every month across nine different social media platforms. In that time, we've also raised tens of thousands of dollars to help anti-fascist crews around the world to fund their work fighting hate.

We've also put together some projects of international anti-fascist collaboration that we're especially proud of. This June also marks the 10th anniversary of The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, which we started in 2015 to provide emergency support to anti-fascists facing real trouble as a direct result of their anti-fascist work. Over the past decade, the Defence Fund has doled out more than $270,000USD to help out over 800 anti-fascists in 26 different countries.

Then there's The International Day of Solidarity with Anti-Fascist Prisoners - every July 25th we call on anti-fascists around the world to show solidarity with our comrades who've been locked up for the "crime" of standing against bigotry and fascism. We accept contributions for anti-fascist prisoners and their families year 'round and very July 25th we make sure they receive those funds, to help make their lives a bit easier while they're serving time.

We also maintain the Death To Fascism website as a place anti-fascists can find resources and materials to help them in their work. Artwork, flyers, 'zines, how-to guides - it's all their for you to read, download, print, and share!

We do all of this (and more) on a strictly unpaid, unfunded, volunteer basis. You could too! There are lots of things you can do to promote and support anti-fascism! In fact, here's a list of 30 antifa actions you could choose from to start with. Don't like any of those ideas? Then here are 40 more!

The story of Alma Bowman, a disabled woman and US citizen detained by ICE, just keeps getting worse.

She’s been in the country for 50 years. They took her wheelchair, denied her medications and threw her in a detention facility in Georgia.

Her case is getting a decent amount of media attention, with petitions circulating to get her released.

But did you know it’s not the first time she’s very nearly faced deportation?

In 2020, she was a key witness in a legal battle against Irwin County Detention Centre.

She helped blow the whistle about a doctor performing unnecessary hysterectomies and sterilizations on immigrant women detained in the facility.

This is Nazi level eugenics.

They’re grabbing people off the streets. They’re disappearing them. Many die in custody and/or are never seen again.

Sterilization of ‘undesirables’ is sadly nothing new. It’s a way to push white supremacy.

It takes a lot of courage to speak out against such practices, and it’s horrifying that she’s again sitting in a detention centre without due process.
