BioCurious to learn more about the fediverse. Human.

Dear news sites,

When I open one of your stories, I don't want to see an unrelated autoplay video, especially one labelled "made right now with AI!"

When I stop it, and scroll down, I don't want to see it pop up again.

I also don't want pop ups for other stories getting in the way while I'm trying to read this story.

And when I finally manage to make it to the story I wish to read, at the end of it you're asking for donations?

@Kealoha321 looks like a starlink launch chain. They will eventually settle into larger spacing on what may be the same basic orbit for that ring of the constellation

I just put up a fresh post about unproductive criticism surrounding artificial intelligence with an attempt to advocate for more nuanced, constructive engagement from both sides of the discussion.

@AppleFanboy these shows have become 'hold your attention' type viewing with little real storytelling or other satisfying content. Silo and Invasion do the same thing. Great cast, pointless cliffhanging
@Viss one more option. Infuse. Great app for playback and search works.
#HOTD #houseofthedragon. Does HBO / Max really think we are going to subscribe to be shown a preamble where nothing fucking happens? People pay money to see something not to be strung along like most of the Apple TV shows now being produced. Doomscrolling is not a model for episodic television. That's what this has become. Ooh let's see what happens if we watch just a little bit longer. Nothingburgers all the way down.
@charlotteclymer VPete for the win.
@jetton he may be a Stabyhound breed. https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/stabyhoun/.
@hankg @arstechnica @TaoBear ULA still exists, and they still have government contracts -- a few. And Blue Origin has been promising great things for years, and the government keeps saying it'll be delighted to work with them as soon as they can get so much as a crushed tin can into orbit. But right now, neither can deliver at a price, or honestly a launch rate, that matches SpaceX -- and it's far from clear that the government can create vendors that can just by throwing money around.
@jimmyb 10 episodes and almost nothing actually happens. So disappointing. Go outside and discover ... 10 episodes.
