I make things (photographs, music, functional designs for 3D printing, etc) but I don't get paid for it, so I'll post content when I'm good and ready!

Here's a #Lightroom tip I haven't seen before. I think this one will be helpful to me

TLDR: You can use the luminance slider in the midtone section of the color grading panel to adjust midtones in a more targeted way than you can with the exposure slider.

Pros Unlock this Hidden Lightroom Slider! (beginners don’t know it exists)

I did some exploring today with the goal of working on woodland landscape #photography and #WildlifePhotography. Woodland landscape photography is brand new to me. I got some practice and learned a bit, but I did not end up with a woodland shot I liked.

This female cardinal was my favorite shot from today

@voyager Great setup! I have some ideas bubbling in the back of my mind for water and reflections. I want to revisit some things I tried years ago when I was doing more experimentation

As an ant biologist, I think the discovery of “ant milk” might be the single biggest research finding during my lifetime.

Across ants, maturing pupae make a nutritional exudate for their nestmates:

Pupating ants make milk — and scientists only just noticed

A nutritious fluid secreted by pupating ants helps to feed the rest of the colony, and could play a part in the evolution of social structures.

When I was shooting this song sparrow, I didn't realize that the cabbage white butterfly was in the shot. With wildlife photography, there are frequently surprises once you view your images on a big screen.

@f Having something like this to detect blurry pics would really speed up a wildlife photography workflow
@jschuh That does seem like an unfair criticism considering that I've never seen similar complaints for Octoprint
