Apple and Google are finally bringing end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging to iPhone and Android chats.

That is a big win for everyday privacy...but it does not mean SMS is dead or that every text message should be treated as secure.

In episode 435 of the @sharedsecurity podcast, Kevin Tackett and I talk about encrypted RCS, why Signal is still the better choice for sensitive conversations, and why the green bubble vs. blue bubble debate is somehow still alive!

Does encrypted RCS change your messaging habits? Let me know in the comments!

Getting hacked isn't the problem. How you respond is.

Data breaches are inevitable but your response defines your organization's reputation. In this week's episode of @sharedsecurity we discuss the need to stop judging organizations for being attacked and why we need to start holding them accountable for what comes after.

@vika Welcome! Here's a few extra InfoSec accounts I like that's not on Lesley Carhart's 2025 list:

Organizations:
@haveibeenpwned - Publish news about data breaches.
@CyberSecCanon - Curated InfoSec books reviewed by the Ohio State University.

People:
@SheHacksPurple - You might have seen her from Darknet Diaries by @jackrhysider. She wrote a couple of books application security.
@alyssam_infosec - CISO, also wrote "Cyber Security Career Guide."
@agent0x0 - Host of "Shared Security" podcast, covers InfoSec and privacy news.
@accidentalciso - Host of "the Mindful Business Security Show," covers cybersecurity from SMB leaders' POV.

Extra: @catsalad. InfoSec pro, but I mostly follow them for cat pictures.
