Introducing the AppleWideWeb!

Most of you may already know that #HyperCard was a big influence on Tim Berners-Lee when he created the WWW. We are told that HyperCard missed its chance since it wasn't networked. Without support for connecting up a global network of HyperCard Stacks, it had no chance against the WWW.

Well that was then and this is now. In 2024 we DO have a global AppleTalk network to publish HyperCard Stacks on - #GlobalTalk! The dream is finally a reality!

Need to point this out.

As a murderer stabbed a Muslim woman named Dr. Talat Khan to death, witnesses report that 17 Texans pulled out their firearms. 17! The murderer stabbed her, stopped to check her pulse, confirmed she was alive, & went back to stabbing her to death.

And 17 "good guys with guns" did nothing.

A reminder that the "good guy with a gun" myth is a propaganda point to sell more guns. It does nothing beyond an anecdote to save lives.

I didn't know Cal Wilson very well.

I loved her as a performer, and she was always generous when we did get a chance to speak with each other.

So smart, so sharp, and so lovely. Her husband Chris and son Digby must be devastated, as with all her family and friends.

RIP Cal. You were a good one.
