Dear #Neuromatchstodon, we turned the 'trends' feature on because, well, there wasn't much of a reason to have it off. You can see that in the "explore" tab on the right, and trending hashtags should be displayed on your home and other feeds.

it's limited at the moment to manually approved hashtags, posts, and authors at the moment, but we'll likely turn that off soon after taking a look for a few days what would be on there. full-text elastic #search has been enabled. search might behave a little strangely for the next several hours as the index is built - currently the ETA is 4h21m, though this has been fluctuating in a mostly upwards direction.

search indexing is opt-in for both our instance and others. to have your posts included in public indexing, go to https://neuromatch.social/settings/privacy and enable "Include public posts in search results"

you are able to search your own posts even if you have not opted into public indexing.
