@BrideOfLinux Hello my friend!
My friend @jperlow wrote this for ZDNet: Mastodon isn't Twitter but it's glorious https://www.zdnet.com/article/mastodon-isnt-twitter-but-its-glorious/
Mastodon isn't Twitter but it's glorious

The wild world of Mastodon is open source, completely distributed, and at the mercy (and budgetary restrictions) of individual server administrators. But it's engaging and a lot of fun.

I've essentially stopped looking at social media at all on the weekend for the last ~6 months, and it's been a delightful habit to pick up.
My gut feeling is that on Twitter, people flock to point out something wrong, on Mastodon they flock to help you out
Always remember the most amazing and fundamental difference between #Twitter and #Mastodon 👇

Hey everyone - if you are looking to track down some of your Twitter followers and those you follow over there and get them connected here - check out this clever app called Debirdify

https://pruvisto.org/debirdify/

Debirdify

This is a web app that helps you find out which of the people you follow on Twitter are on Mastodon/in the Fediverse already and follow all of them easily.

Whoa whoa whoa...

Whoa.

You mean to tell me that #Mastodon has *zero* algorithms deciding what I should read, and that the vast majority of instances banish Nazis into their own shadowrealm instead of tolerating them in the name of EnGaGeMenT?

Hah! Next you'll tell me there are no advertisers wielding influence over feature design so they get more marketing eyeballs!

Wait, what??!

Cats love tröt, @Gargron.

And a quick answer from @xatlasm
