#JohnMastodon is proof that things *CAN* go viral here on Mastodon, but the key is that *YOU* are the algorithm. The reason that the John Mastodon meme showed up on other people's timelines is because so many users boosted the posts.
The lesson here is: please don't just favourite something if you really enjoyed it; BOOST it so that other people can enjoy it, too! This is the only reason why I bother to create as large a social graph as I can on Mastodon—to act as an amplifier. You can, too!❤️😉

Been too cold to paint for me currently so carried on building a command squad sorted and I’ve made a commander that is going to represent me on the battlefield as I do for each army.
I’ve been trying to write lists anyone got any insights on the ordnance battery. I fancy lost of vehicles with troops inside. Does that play well?

A #TTRPG session 0 tool I've been using for my homebrew worlds: World Cards.
Create 3 decks of cards (I write mine on study cards); Knowledge, Rumour, and Exploration. These decks should be things a character knows, things they've heard, and things they've found respectively.
During character creation, each player draws a number of cards from each deck according to an associated stat (INT, CHA, DEX).
This gives each caracter immediate hooks and ties to the world without a dreaded lore dump!
Mastodon works differently to Twitter, so heres some tips:
- Favouriting something tells the poster you liked it, and it shows up in your own Favourites list. It does *nothing* to tell others about it - there is no algorithm here!
- Boosting tells your followers about a post. You can boost AND favourite, and you should probably boost more than you retweeted on twitter!
- You find stuff using hashtags, so don't forget to use them!
