I'm reading "Chokepoint Capitalism:
How Big Tech and Big Content Captured Creative Labor Markets and How We'll Win Them Back" by Rebecca Giblin and Cory Doctorow. The chapter about YouTube is one of my favourites for now. It explains things such as that many of the contents monetized by major rights holders does so unjustly, taking money away from independent artists and giving it to major media companies that would never be able to claim that money in court.

The people in the neighborhood wanted a bridge over the creek. The city had no funding for #PedestrianInfrastructure for something like that. But they did get an #art grant, so they hired an artist to create an art installation that would span the creek that people could walk on. I frequently walk my dogs along this creek and yes, over the bridge sometimes.

@ianp5a @PavelASamsonov I certainly feel that FB's users are (at best) complicit, but I have a hard time with your argument as it substitutes legality for ethics. We all have a responsibility not to do destructive things. "But they encouraged me to do it" isn't really an excuse.
