11/04/2026 - Bus trip to Elgin to run away from the rain on the east coast. We had a walk round the ruins of Elgin Cathedral. Fine view from the top of the tower. There's a great pictish stone there too. The gardens next door are lovely with some nice young cedar trees. Top day out. Stayed dry, a bit of sunshine but a little breezy.

Last Tuesday, I went for a walk along the banks of the Bélon, including a detour to the dolmen at Kermeur Bihan, where two oak trees stand, in Moélan-sur-Mer

The Harold Stone. Horatio writes: This is one LARGE stone and as such one of the best I've ever come across #StandingStoneSunday. Two metres tall and 1.6m wide, in legend associated with the campaigns of Harold Godwinson. This stone is one of the St Twynnells Devil's Quoits (see Nearby Sites list on our page). The others are situated approximately 0.75km NW and 1. More 1/
