Sony A7RIV plus a few Nikon's, drones and phones. All pictures are mine.
Tomorrow starts vacation. Off to New England to try and capture the beauty of fall foliage.

I'll also be visiting my 50th of the 50 US states.

An older photo shot with who knows what phone I had then.

For a moment, the visit to Castillo de San Marcos in St Augustine Florida felt like a step back in time....

I don't think Puerto Rico gets enough credit for how beautiful it is there.

Even better is when you step off the main island to a place like Vieques where you can feel truly alone and at peace. If you're up for adventure, beaches all to yourself, and amazing people, I highly recommend it.

Be mindful of the signage there though as there are unexploded bombs still littering the island which they work constantly to clear.

If you visit Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park, don't just stop there. Keep adventuring above the falls for some more great views.

This is me trying to turn an old boring photo into something new and worth viewing, messing around in Lightroom Classic which I never use.

Was having a little fun trying to create something here.

I'd hop in my Jeep and speed down the little dirt road next to the pond.

The dust never created exactly what I had envisioned. It is a reminder that you can influence your pictures with some subtle use of the environment around you.

Hannibal, Missouri is known for being the home of the author Mark Twain but does hold another story at Lover's Leap.

While the story varies according to the teller of the story, the main elements are that an indigenous warrior and an indigenous princess from warring tribes were prevented from marrying by their parents and tribes. One evening when the warrior landed his canoe in Bear Creek, he was observed meeting and walking with the princess. A treacherous observer revealed this to the father of the princess who was the Chief of the tribe. The angered father offered an otter skin to anyone who would kill the warrior. A number of the younger warriors started after him. When the couple realized they were being chased, they climbed Lovers Leap hoping to elude their pursuers. Cornered on the rock prominence, the warrior knew he was about to be killed. The princess also realized this, and decided that life would not be worth living if he were killed. The two embraced and threw themselves off of the top of Lovers Leap to their deaths. Lovers Leap is thus a memorial to these two young lovers who sacrificed their lives rather than be apart, according to legend.
