I've been getting roped into more video meetings lately, so I've been doodling, and I've realized that my go-to daydreaming doodle is an endoplasmic reticulum (like those cross-section drawings from childhood biology picture books).

Which brings me to my question: What's your go-to doodle?

I also love to doodle endoplasmic reticula!!

@handmade_ghost I had a couple of favorite doodling patterns that would repeat and grow to cover most of the page. For example, I'd draw a maze of rectangular boxes with gaps in their walls here and there, and then draw a line bouncing off the walls like the old Pong type games, going inside and between the boxes till the spaces were so full of crisscrossing lines there was no room for more. I did this through school, and in many work meetings for years.
@dkozlov @handmade_ghost I had a similar pattern with pseudo-tessellations based on 3 and 5 sided shapes. I also had a tendency to cover everything with stylized vines, like some kind of doodling kudzu. (In other news, that will be the name of my new band.)
@VaylLarkinPoet @dkozlov Doodling Kudzu!! πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ€ I love this.
@dkozlov I can totally picture this! I used to do a similar thing filling boxes with arced lines until there was almost nothing unmarked (like nesting hills or rainbows, but no color lol). I love how this leaves you space to keep adding and building on the "starter" doodle!

@dkozlov I would like to see a pic of that!

Here's a simple one I dashed off just last night. A little sloppy but it shows the general pattern.
