Retired white guy, nevertheless a leftist. Out in the county, retired from UVa, still a tech guy specializing in Apple stuff. Occasional writer. And I like crows. :)#Permaculture #Apple #History #antifascist #photography #TTRPG

In Chapter 26 of "A New Faith", the characters discuss this aspect while exploring the idea of Sequoia. They decide to make housing, utilities, and healthcare free for all residents along with universal basic income (UBI).

Currently, Big Oil pays NOTHING towards the costs of increasingly severe extreme weather events. They pass on the human and financial cost to all of us.

Who do you think should pay? 👉 https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/cop/how-climate-change-is-fuelling-wildfires-europe-2025-07-15/

Big Oil kills. And silences.

Fossil fuel giants and the regimes they fund are crushing civil society and erasing dissent around the world.

In Russia, an oil-backed system has forced hundreds of thousands into exile for simply resisting.

Thank you to artists Varvara Shmykova & Bulat Arslanov for showing that while fossil fuel companies corrode democracy and distort truth, they can’t erase us — just as repression can’t erase courage.

It’s #TimeToResist.

⁉️Why Care about Glaciers?

Why should you care about glaciers - even if you’re nowhere near one? Glaciers might seem distant, but they help regulate the whole planet’s temperature. They reflect sunlight, store freshwater, and keep sea levels in check.

And when they melt? Sea levels rise, weather gets weirder, and millions of people lose water sources. So even if I’ve never seen a glacier, I feel their disappearance.
