I saw the Big Dipper, the milky way (pic) and three meteors too. Not very often am I in dark sky county. So many stars compared to the minimal we see at home. We are staying in Paw Paw, WV.

Summer Tanager.
Today was the second time I went to try and locate this bird. There was also a female which is yellow / olive colored, not completely red like this male. Kinda made my day.

Ironically, the Rose-breasted Grosbeak is my bird of the day on Merlin. I set up the camera this morning and wondered if he would appear. After 20 mins I went inside with the gear (I teach high school). Looking out the window a few mins later, guess who showed up? I quickly reset for some captures. Here are 2.
The past few weeks, this Eastern Towhee has been singing his heart out from the top of the trees. When he stops, it’s usually to visit the feeders below.
Northern Wren is working on the nest box between the lovely songs.
