Does Mastodon need new features and improvements? Yes.
Is the second interface change within 6 months one of them?.. I struggle to remember a single thing that was improved. Something around musing defaults, I think.
As things are now, it's offensively one-coloured, buttons are close together and moved from their previous places, and surely there is a great value in mirroring the menus and fields across the screen, right.
Thankfully mobile clients still look fine.
And that battery thing... tlp? Hell knows why is it named this way, and how am I supposed to remember it.
It has given me the perfect answer, and I suppose it could have told me the name of Compose key, and its location too.
And while I'm thankful for AI, as it made my life much easier, and enabled me to be learning Python at normal human speed vs my own despicable speed.
Are we anywhere close to the solution to command-line apps, where you can only use it if you can recall its name? Each time I use scp, I remember it's SSH copy, and rely on the shell to guess the last letter.

Every time I want to enter a special symbol, say, Hungarian pronoun Ε, I:
β’ press my special key, thankfully I remember it's right Ctrl, and it's set in KDE settings;
β’ press the letter and try whatever "-looking symbols to make it work;
β’ decide to look it up, only I forgot what it's even called;
β’ through browser history and searches, re-learn it's called Compose key;
β’ search for a while for the location of its config;
β’ find the binding, only it doesn't work;
β’ ask AI how to call @ button

Yesterday I applied mascara
a) for the first time,
b) on someone else,
c) I have dyspraxia.
Thankfully my 7y old child doesn't have a clue how clueless I am, and still liked the results.
I know I should have watched video tutorials, but it's effort, and I also don't have anyone to practice on.
Also had to guide her through the makeup removal (I have suitable cleansers), and applied nail polish on tiny nails (my skill, unused for 11y, is still sharp enough).

Countless times I thought I was replying to someone, but I forgot to click reply (we click it to get the field to type in, right? and it's already there, so I must have clicked it), and posted to my own feed instead. Sometimes I see those replies while scrolling my profile page, and delete them with facepalm.
Clients have figured this out, but I use Mastodon in a desktop browser the most.
