Why the abundant availability of renewable energy in NL, GER and BE doesn't lead to lower energy prices (unlike in Spain). Apparently wind energy isn't well connected to the transmission grid so a big chunk of it goes unused?!

Isn't it interesting how, in the last few years, national criminal investigations have served as a check on EU power? Remember the Belgian investigations into MEP Kaili and the College of Europe funding, now France investigates the former head of Frontex.
In US constitutional law this would likely be seen as interference with federal powers, but under EU law, it's a healthy demonstration of EU #federalism, in the spirit of Federalist 51.
