Like LBJ or not (the Civil Rights Act/the Vietnam War), the man took his experience in the Senate and wrung as much out of Congress as a human could, and Joey B is following in his footsteps. I know it's popular to pan long terms, but it's clear that knowing how to work the system from within provides a lot of value. Biden got far more out of our crippled Congress than anyone expected.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with Monoclonal Gammopathy of Unknown Significance. MGUS is to multiple myeloma as "pre-diabetes" is to diabetes: There's a ~1% chance that MGUS will develop into multiple myeloma each year. The life expectancy for someone with multiple myeloma is about 2 years.

Normally people show MGUS in their 70s. By the time it develops into MM, they're likely to die of something else.

My MGUS showed up at 48. So it's likely I will develop multiple myeloma in my lifetime.

In the meantime, if you would like to know what a DeSantis-Musk conversation is like, imagine the alien wearing Vincent D'Onofrio's skin attempting to banter with the "wish him away into the cornfield" child from Twilight Zone
We regret that Twitter Spaces’ algorithm misidentified Ron DeSantis as a toddler and ran him over
What do Kari Lake and a Flat Earther have in common? A suspicion that objective reality cannot be taken at face value. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/23/arizona-kari-lake-governor-false-claims/?itid=ap_philipbump
Reality is an endlessly useful political opponent

Kari Lake lost in Arizona, again. But that reality is simply more grist for a lucrative mill.

You were reminded today that you plan to cancel your (neé) HBO on Sunday, after you watch the last Succession. Here are the 12 best things HBO ever made (other than Succession), in case you want to watch tv 24 hours a day between then and now:
