One of my recent projects has been creating a #solar powered #aeroponics (similar to #hydroponics) 3D printed vertical tower #garden.

It uses a popular modular #3dprinted tower design where water is pumped up a central column and allowed to cascade down over the roots of the growing plants.

Usually people attach their towers to mains but I wanted to make it solar powered and also report data back to my home #grafana dashboard.

The first official report from Spain's blackout: a collection of big generators (coal, gas, nuclear) failed to absorb voltage issues as they were meant to.

That led to major generation outages, which led to an unstoppable collapse.

I checked on the status of my solar system this morning, given it's an overcast day.

I found the battery was full already at 09:30!

My system saw the weather forecast and charged up the battery from cheap grid energy during the night, to ensure we weren't beholden to any price spikes during the day.

French energy company TotalEnergies has taken a bright step forward for Europe’s clean energy goals as it has switched on its largest solar power portfolio on the continent, PC Tech reported. A group of five solar farms in southern Spain, close to Seville, is now generating a total of 263 megawatts of clean energy.
