I have been practicing creating/converting images for use with GB Studio with the goal of meeting the 192 or less 8x8 unique tiles so as to also be able to layer other things, such as sprites and audio.

"Night of the Living Dead" with a 16-color, DVD-like menu for DOS

This is #software to help you play the Public Domain video "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) by George A. Romero on a newer DOS machine. This software initially launches a main menu with extra options for chapter selection, change the MPlayer settings, and etc. just like if you had a 16-color DVD menu but on a newer DOS machine. MPlayer requires VESA. The video is a 640x480 MPG.

The PsychDOS desktop environment is an ANSI-like graphical interface for launching applications and having a few other other features. I highly recommend looking at the SCREENSHOTS and DOCS sections, as well as taking a look at the QCKGUIDE.PDF (Page 3.5 Issue #01) file to get a better idea.

I do not currently have a way to see what this does, but I was watching "Makeing the Most of the Micro: At the End of the Line" and at the end of the episode, a sound was played to be recorded and then used with a BBC Mircocomputer. It seems as though B-Em and ElectrEm do not like WAV files and I have no way to convert this to a UEF; so if anyone out there can see what this does or translate it to a UEF, that would be awesome and let me know how, especially if it can be done on GNU/Linux. #beeb

PsychDOS is not out yet, but maybe someone out there might want to at least know about it and what better way than a cool poster? I would also like to point out that the "640K minimum" and the "GPLv3" on the poster is for the desktop environment itself and that the included software may use more RAM and different, but still redistributable licenses. #dos #retro #oldschool #vhs #poster #dosbox #freedos #vbdos
