Spacewave nostalgia in E minor.
Too many french horns, too many vocal tracks, too much reverb.

Now what could I possibly want to do with these?

It seems that some of the traditional hashtags for plant and fungus Fediposting are being forgotten. A quick recap:

Plants: #plantodon
Moss: #mosstodon
Flowers: #florespondence
Fungus: #sporespondence
Lichen: #LichenSubscribe

I hate everything today. Wonder why. /sarcasm
Gosh, I hate reading the news.
Good morning on the face of this space disco ball! ๐Ÿชฉ

Dear fellow techies:

If you have a great idea for a fediverse tool, and it's amazing that nobody's done it yet... ask around. Especially ask PoC and LGBT folks.

There might be very good reasons it hasn't been done yet.

Or--it might have been done already, multiple times, and raised a storm of protests that drove each developer into shelter. You don't want to be that person.

The fedi needs tools! The fedi needs activitypub hackers! Don't waste your time writing code nobody wants, work with the community.

Hint: we don't want indexers or search engines.

It's shortly after 10 pm here and I'm done with this day. Go away, I'll take the next one. Thank you, bye.
It's weird. I bet if I asked my close friends to whom I'm not yet out if they see me as a woman, they would say yes. But I bet it's because many wouldn't consider categories beyond man and woman. If I asked them if I was a typical woman, they would say "hell no!", because it's blatantly obvious how bad I fit into that narrow category. It's absurd, really.
I wonder how they would see me if they did consider nonbinary options. I really do.

Being put into the "woman" category by others always felt wrong. I never understood it. I never had the words to express the discomfort it gave me.
Now I do, and that alone is fantastic. Presenting femme and being treated as female is not the same as being a woman. Identifying in the nonbinary spectrum (!) and presenting an aesthetic you like is valid.

I want you to consider this: you may have nonbinary ppl in your life without you realizing it. They themselves might be unaware, apart from this slight discomfort. If you can, just refrain from "you as a woman/man" stuff. Do you really need it? Why? What does it really add? You're faced with a person, not a label.

Posing for the selfie gods.
