It can feel like we all are navigating white water in a tiny little kayak and somebody on the shore wants to know where we plan to place our paddle for each of next 100 strokes. I'm going to place my paddle here in this spot I can reach & then, if my little craft is still upright, well we will see.

I have no words. My beautiful student, River, has had a devastating car accident. They are a nonbinary, disabled young person fighting their way through poverty to finish college, and they have been my student worker and dear friend for three years. Please give in any amount if you can. We fight every day on a systemic level to help students like River. Today is a day to just bring the cash right to a human who desperately needs it. https://gofund.me/c4da737d

Please share if you can.

This @ProPublica story spells out why, if I ever did decide to get licensed and see patients again, I absolutely would not take insurance

Why I Left the Network

Those who need therapy often have to pay out of pocket or go without care, even if they have health insurance. Hundreds of mental health providers told us they fled networks because insurers made their jobs impossible and their lives miserable.

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious leap day?

Huh. A year and a half since my last blog post. So, here's a new one, inspired by work I did with undergraduate poetry students last semester. Would love to connect with others who are sharing (classroom) teaching/learning approaches to poetry, old faithfuls or new experiments or anything in between.
