A ★★★½ review of Die Another Day (2002)

James Bond lurches further into over the top cartoonish action and storylines and it works really well. Plenty of memorable scenes in this movie. The plot is insanely far fetched even for the wildest end of the Bond movie spectrum which is pretty jarring compared to the previous efforts (and especially what comes after). Memorable Bond villains in this one. Lots of fantastical gadgets. They use the old reliable "Bond quits to pursue revenge" plotline. There's a few bits of cringey dialogue but overall this is one of the better outings for the super spy

For anyone that got 007 First Light on #XBOX, the game is a play anywhere title and is also handheld optimized. I am just grabbing it now to try on my laptop.

I like play anywhere games as it means I can carry my save game and play on my laptop when I am away from the house

A ★★½ review of The World Is Not Enough (1999)

A more interesting villain than the previous film that leans a bit more into classic bond territory. Sadly things get a bit cringey at times with the innuendo but overall this film holds up well. Furthermore this would score higher for me if Denise Richards was not giving a completely shite performance as Dr Christmas Jones. Overall its a fun rewatch and the N64 game is top notch!

A lot of these gunfights get desperate as you constantly deplete your ammo and have to run, hide and improvise

A ★★½ review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

This is probably the weakest of the Pierce Brosnan 007 films but its still very watchable with some nice spy action and an interesting plot about media empires creating the narrative for world events (and in this case creating world events to report on). Sadly it gets a bit lost in the middle and there's some downright cringey jokes.
