1/ Thanks to @cwebber for helping me understand the differences between the "decentralized" approach of #Bluesky and the "distributed" approach of the #Fediverse .

Edgar Allan Poe's “The Masque of the Red Death" is perhaps an apt allegory for the billionaire class and the pandemics of today, where "the entitled members of a society more concerned about comfort and capital during a disaster only causes more destruction. In the end, no one gets out alive." And yes, these folks are the first in line for vaccines while railing against them in public.

Trump isn’t that popular. Too many Democrats are pretending otherwise.

Trump was a historically unpopular president in his first term, and pre-inauguration polls show he’ll face the same widespread opposition in his second term.

What a 💚 #vanilla story!

Until recently local farmers were unaware of its commercial and financial value. In 2015, after discovering the orchid in El Valle, #Swissaid #Colombia partnered with two local community councils.

"offers a more sustainable alternative to traditional, often environmentally harmful practices, such as cattle grazing, illegal mining and coca plantation, which drive deforestation"

By conserving forests, vanilla #farming helps sequester carbon.
