Now to remove the far-right Netanyahu government!

Israel's Supreme Court struck down a controversial judicial reform that triggered nationwide protests last year against the Netanyahu government.

The change would have limited the power of the Supreme Court in overturning laws it deemed unconstitutional.

Critics say it would have severely undermined the country's democracy by weakening the judicial system.

I am not anti-Semitic.
I am pro-humanity.
You can despise the leader of a country (Trump) or the actions of a government (Putin's Russia) while knowing that the majority of their people are just fellow human beings trying to do their best in life.
I am not anti-Semitic.
I just want Israeli Jews to look into their hearts, and raise their voices to bring an end to Netanyahu's genocidal rampage.
They are the only people who can stop his creation of hell on Earth.

The West has lost its sense of urgency about the war in Ukraine, and many Ukrainians have lost their sense of existential threat, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said in an interview with The Economist.

"Putin feels weakness like an animal, because he is an animal. He feels blood, he feels his power. And he will eat you for dinner with all your EU, NATO, freedom and democracy" he said.

Beware any interview where the employer declines to show a typical workstation or refuses to let you see where the team is situated.

Many a new hire has gone for lunch in their first week, went home, and accepted a competing offer.

It doesn't need to be decorated like a youth center or a day care, but it does have to have certain minimums.

Decent HVAC. Appropriate lighting. Fairly quiet. Ergonomic. A visible team lead or manager. (Beware the "always in meetings" manager)

Studies on the illusory truth effect have shown that you can make people believe some outrageous things, like elephants are faster than cheetahs, simply by repeating it enough times. This work builds off the Asch conformity experiments, where participants agreed with wrong answers a majority of the time. Repetition and peer pressure can do horrible things.

Maybe you remember a couple of years ago, when millions of people were yelling about schools offering students litter boxes if they identified as cats. Nobody really believed it, but they had no trouble acting like they did. It wasn't about litter boxes. It was about attacking public education.

That's a good example.

There's a reason why corporations invest billions in advertising and messaging. They know they have to vary their repetition across a range of contexts to get everyone to believe... anything. That's also why billionaires and rich families have gobbled up newspapers, and why they also fund "independent journalists" to go around touting their message. It's about surrounding people with improvisations on the same lie from a hundred angles.

No wonder we're in a mess.
The stock market is failing according to the CBI. So why don’t we just let it go?

The CBI is saying that the situation with regard to the UK stock exchange is getting desperate, because it is losing out to overseas markets and not attracting sufficient business. The question that needs to be asked is, why is that?...
