@auguryignored I think they mean they want to *feel* that there is deep lore. Like, you can see the opening of the rabbithole, and you can tell it goes down pretty far, but you don't need to go down there

Personally I think what they actually want is to be shown that their DM cares about their campaign

It's also sad that the only clear memory that the #anime left on me was when a demon saw the protagonist and responded with "Wait. Why is there boss music? Why do I recognize this boss music?" and then was immediately annihilated.

For example, the tournament arc was exposited well. There were logical rules and the game was implemented in a way that made me fully believe that this was a normal sport played in this universe. I liked how it tested the team's ability to play as a team instead of just seeing who can punch the hardest.

Then the characters start pulling new moves out of their ass with no justification and I realized I was supposed to just sit here and watch the cool swords hit each other. It made me sad.

And the worst thing is that this #xianxia #anime had some really cool concepts and clever jokes, but the writing completely failed at having any verisimilitude whatsoever. The plot's stakes were inconsistent and the characters' abilities were poorly exposited. The longer I watched, the more I felt that I didn't need to worry about anyone on screen

Have you ever finished an #anime and just been disappointed?

An internet person suggested that I watch "The Daily Life of the Immortal King" and said it was a solid 8/10. I will agree that the first couple episodes were an 8/10, but once it got to ep 5 the episodes started to lose their shine, and by the time the tournament arc started at the end of season 1 I began to get really bored. After ep 15 I just sat back and asked myself why I was bothering to watch at all.

@misfitkotld I think he was justified in his response, but the kids never trusted him again. Well, I guess one might forgive him, because he was the only one who has survived so far.

The second person to arrive was the rogue ( @misfitkotld this was the Immigrant), who assessed the area and realized the teachers were intentionally ignoring Sorceror's alarm. He confronted the teacher of the 4-9 year olds about this, who responded by calling him a racial slur. Rogue responded to the slur by throwing a spear through the teacher. He was then shocked that the children screamed and ran away from him directly into the cloud of poison

Two #dnd sessions ago, shit began to go down.

The first person to arrive was the sorceror ( @misfitkotld this was the Daddy Issues Creature btw). He spotted that the army had left a poison gas bomb, and after failing to disarm it yelled "get out, there's a bomb" and began rolling the bomb towards the front doors. The teachers ignored him. They had a class to teach, damn it!

@misfitkotld in all honesty I don't think our employers did a single background check. Our party consists of a War Criminal, an Immigrant (when we have a god whose whole job is to keep the immigrants out), a Retired Serial Killer, and a Weird Creature with Daddy Issues

I am the retired serial killer btw

Three #dnd sessions ago, we killed a whole lot of guards on the way to the school where Lady Konflict was taking matters into her own hands. Some of us (me) took the opportunity to go full muderhobo and got very distracted, and I took a slight detour to break Lady Korb (friendly neighborhood death cultist) out of house arrest (this was put in place because the worshippers of the god of death DID NOT LIKE FINDING OUT THAT THERE WAS A NECROMANCER)
