‘Morning All, I’m Kelli. A reclamation coach, author, celebrant, and retired structural engineer, owned by two cats. When Ollie and Remi aren’t bossing me around, I enjoy reading fiction, playing with fountain pens, and non-rush hour driving.

(In reality, despite the moniker, I herd no animals. Cats don't volunteer for such foolishness.)

SOLVED: at least, I’ve found a workaround with CSS. See the comments.

Okay, I give up. Someone please tell me how I can permanently get rid of the backlinks/outgoing links icons in the #Obsidian sidebar?? They’re taking up too much space, pushing out the sidebar items I actually use, and making me scroll (or widen the sidebar) to see them.

I close them every time I open the app and it’s driving me crazy that they keep coming back. Can’t find anything in Settings to help.

It’s a good day when you go hunting for scissors and you find the chili infused chocolate you misplaced.

I found the scissors too.

Score!

I remember years ago thinking instead of yet another kids history book about the terrible Tudors, the origins of WW1 or ancient Egyptians, what kids really need is one that explains the conflicts in the Middle East, specifically one that focuses on Israel and Palestine.

I don’t know how you would tell this story from an entirely neutral perspective or which publisher would touch it with a barge poll…but mass failure to understand this conflict for generations has led us to this abyss.

“Assume good intent” and “diversity of thought” any calls to “be nice” to each other with our words are like bright orange flags to me in DIB conversations.

It’s of note I always hear these talking points from people in positions of power and almost always white, cisgendered, hetero men and women.

Like this isn’t bad advice when given to people in power, but it always seems to get turned around on the marginalized who are (often rightfully) upset and deal with bad intent all the time
