I was just reading about Bill Atkinson passing away. The stories about him from āRevolution in the Valleyā and his code for QuickDraw are a huge inspiration for me. One of my favorite videos is Steve Jobs running into him and Andy Hertzfeld at the iPhone launch. When it comes to metric vs imperial unit, I never hear about how metric numbers arenāt highly composite. 12, 60, 360 are even āsuperiorā highly composite number. Theyāre way more useful in āreal worldā uses because they can divide evenly in more ways.
That said, any imperial unit that isnāt a highly composite number is silly (looking at you 3 feet/yard, 1760 yards/miles, 16 oz/lb and almost all imperial fluid units)
Finally, I prefer baking in grams and milliliters
