Just finished season 1 of Starfleet Academy and it was honestly one of the best seasons of Star Trek

When congress rescinded already approved funding for PBS (after a pressure campaign from Trump), someone told me “well, we need to be financially responsible as a country”.

Watching what this country has spent money on since reminds me of the old Eisenhower quote:

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.”

Even though it’s been a very difficult year for #PBS, there are some bright spots this year as well.

I’m super excited to share that the PBS Kids Video app I manage has been selected as an Apple App Store Awards finalist for “Apple TV App of the Year”. My team worked super hard on this app which included an entire UI redesign this year. I’m proud of my teams dedication to this project and all the partners we worked with.

So if you have any references I’d appreciate it.

@RecDiffs another data point. My dad said they did swimming nude in public school gym class in 1970s Kansas
@gruber you posted about The Seneca keyboard before. Adam Savage (from Mythbusters) visited the creator and went deep into the engineering and philosophy behind the keyboard. Including the design reflecting the computer optimism of the 1980s. https://youtu.be/N3FEv1qw4_w
