@alfiegoodrich it’s crazy how much these look like plastic models. I know it’s just camera settings, but it blows my mind to look at these.
The videos of Shibuya Crossing too. There’s a video filter which gives a stop motion like effect, and that looks wild also.
How did you manage this effect? Very wide aperture obviously, is the lens also a wide angle?
The really heartbreaking thing about being a “boss” with a heart… I see the evaluations of others. The same people I interview and see the flaws and red flags.
Honestly I kind of envy the rose goggles by now. It’s nice to see the potential in others. I want to as well.
The reality of seeing their limitations though… like, how do you actually write code without knowing how to type a backslash? (Yes, real story)
Stuff like that viscerally hurts to type into evaluations of others. I wish I could be so kind as to overlook it, but I can’t.
Am I that terrible boss? I hope not, but at times, yes, I probably am, because that’s what’s needed in that moment. It’s not capricious.
My team is an incredibly skilled group of people. I can’t compete with what they combined output every day, though I’d probably outclass any one member of my team on an average day. Not any day, just on average.
It kills me in so many ways though… when did this anti-capitalist… become someone else’s boss? Better someone like me I guess?
@vij I’ve never used CCS myself, so can’t speak to it in particular. Chademo is CHONKY but feels indestructible and is super satisfying to click in. It was built from the start with 1000v architectures in mind apparently. Shame everywhere else seems to have dumped it.
Also feels like having two separated charge ports is a kind of fail safe if one or the other breaks. That’s the situation here in Japan anyway.
@vij I’m so glad not to be driving an EV in the US. Musk’s penchant for chaos juiced the market at first, but now seems to be dragging it down.
Some founders make good long term operators. He clearly doesn’t.
The new #UruseiYatsuya is really well done, and the current sub-plot is no exception.
I had forgotten just how deep the love-hate relationship between #Lum and #Ataru went, but the latest episode puts it on full display.
It may not be that obvious to a westerner why Ataru can’t bring himself to say, even as a lie that he likes/loves Lum, even when the fate of the world is on his shoulders. Ataru is so wrapped up in his own emotions for Lum that the opposite thing comes out. It’s that very childlike side of him that pokes fun at her to mask that he’s actually quite taken by her, a fact which leaks out from time to time, so he over-compensates.
This way of thinking may be foreign to anyone younger than 30, and most younger than 50, but I swear, Ataru reminds me of my grandfather, and how he expressed his affection by insulting us grandkids, with the most mischievous smile on his face.
@CAman entrance and exit use?
Quick chargers aren’t intended to stay plugging in long term to a vehicle, a standard charger is sufficient for a car that will be parked overnight or longer.
On the other hand, you may arrive at the airport with only a few miles left in the battery, or find that situation when you’re ready to leave. In that circumstance, it would be useful.
In general though, the popular places for quick chargers here in #Japan are convenience stores, highway rest stops and malls. One mall nearby me even has free standard chargers with validated mall parking.
