Alone at a party. #hottakes on whatever interests me.

"Sioux City Sasparill? That's a good one."

@PictoPulse356 @bontchev it's pretty hard to deny that (cost)free internet services inevitably leads to enshitification. If we want something that's both good and that respects our privacy, subscription is the only way.

Any #indie #gamedev out there want free music for their game, hit me up.

I have a bunch of stuff already written but also happy to write something specific for your game. Looking for a pro-bono project to get stuck into.

https://retroshare.cc/ has a really cool feature set. My friend/family group wouldn't use it unless there was a way to share things from an iPhone. Neat project though.

Brittany Watts is being prosecuted in Ohio for experiencing a miscarriage.

Kate Cox needed a life-saving abortion and she was forced to battle the system in Texas only to be denied at every step.

These nightmares are the deadly reality of GOP abortion laws. We need to make sure our neighbors know it. https://act.indivisible.org/lte/write-letter-editor-about-katie-cox-brittany-watts-and-harsh-reality-republicans-abortion-laws?source=mastodon&medium=directpost

Write a Letter to the Editor about Kate Cox, Brittany Watts, and the Harsh Reality of Republicans' Abortion Laws

The overturning of Roe v. Wade has opened the floodgates for state laws that are trapping women in nightmare scenarios. Brittany Watts in Ohio and Kate Cox in Texas are the faces of this horror show. Brittany was hauled into court after a stillbirth, and Kate battled the system for a life-saving abortion only to be denied at every step. These aren't just isolated cases; they're a window into a world where women's health is on the line, and Republican promises about health exceptions are nothing but hot air. It's time to call it like it is: These laws aren't just failing women; they're pushing us back to the dark ages. The scare tactics about "death panels" from the ACA days? Guess what, they're here, and they're wearing the robes of the MAGA-led Supreme Court. On the campaign trail, Republicans like Donald Trump will try to appear moderate by talking about the "exceptions," but the "exceptions" are a mirage. And it's our responsibility to make sure our neighbors know it. The game plan is clear: We need to take back the House, retain our Senate majority, keep Joe Biden in the Oval Office, scrap the filibuster, and make Roe v. Wade the law of the land. This isn't just politics; it's a fight for our rights, our health, and our lives. Submit a letter to the editor now to tell your neighbors what's at stake.

How the first gen ipod was reverse engineered to run #Rockbox:

1. Someone figured out that when loading a particular HTML page (for viewing on the device), the device would reboot. It crashed. A buffer overflow in the HTML viewer!

2. The device remembered what it did before the crash, so it would reload the HTML page again after boot. Unless you connected to it over USB and removed the HTML file it would stick in this cycle.

I went through some #godot tutorials for fun today. I'm impressed. I love the OO focus, GDScript is cool. Inline help is great. I'm trying to use it as delivered. Overall it feels like a love has gone into it.
All of the people going after Biden, calling him #GenocideJoe and threatening to not vote for him because of his handling of the Israel/Palestine conflict...
Please look up project 2025 and listen to all the stuff Trump has been openly saying he will do if re-elected because that's what you're signing up for.
I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do anything, you're going to vote however you want and you absolutely should because that's how democracy works...
just realize that a democracy only works when you actually have one.

Wow, #Apple announced it plans to add support for #RCS โ€œlater next year."

Note that encryption is *not* built into the core RCS standard. The only messaging apps that do support RCS + encryption do so via an extension, and Apple does not plan to support these extensions.

Instead, it apparently wants to work with the standards body to add encryption to the core standard. A move I wager has a lot of pushback from data brokers and other jerks who profit from that data.

The unthinkable has happened: Apple announces RCS is coming to the iPhone

The update is coming "later next year" and will greatly improve the experience when messaging Android users.
