Decided this side of these bags needed a little…more. Grabbed my button and miscellaneous bead boxes and embellished them a bit before putting them out on the shelf.

Ended up with 9 bags total. If you’d like to see both sides and linings of each, there is a video at the tumblr link. It was too big to post here directly. Also, the video doesn’t have descriptions of each bag. Sorry.

A New Old Hobby

Charity sewing today. I’ve been slowly turning thread clippings and scrap fabric into new fabric for some time. About a month ago, I cut the panels into smaller pieces and added denim so I could use…

I was originally planning these to be pieced on the front with solid denim on the back, but since they won’t be going to Montana, I decided to just make them double sided instead. It uses up a majority of the me-made fabric collage that is the center panel of each piece, and I can save my larger denim cuts for other projects.

Got the #sewing machine running today. Prepped these piles a month or so ago.

My avocado sprout has some friends. I bet they’re really fun guys!

Cheap potting mix. I can see the little mushrooms growing throughout the whole container. #fungi

Pulled a tarot card today. While shuffling, I posed the question “what should I focus on this week?”

The Card? The Hanged Man (upright), which reminds us that life can change without warning, and we should take time to focus on the present and appreciate where you are in life.

I’ve been wanting to donate an art perk for #p4a for a number of years, but never really had an idea I liked well enough. I’m thinking about submitting recycled #scrapfabric zip pouches this year, but am not sure the value is in the ideal range. #nerdfighters, what do you think?
Also found this pretty group of polypore #fungi growing on a sassafras limb in the wood pile.

After Sunday errands, I’ve changed back into comfy clothes and was thinking about doing some sewing or maybe cooking at least one make ahead meal for the week. Uno thinks I need to stay right where I am. I know the rules, he wins.

What I really wanted to capture is the movement of falling leaves, so I dug out a remnant of tulle, created an abstract maple branch, and made this #WallArt instead. After #sewing the branch, I stitched it to the tulle and placed 2 of the maple leaf shapes at the ends, and scattered the others in a falling design. I need to get a flat dowel for hanging, and it will look better on a light colored wall than on the closet door in the picture.
Edit: new pic. Tulle is basically invisible on white.
