I'm Chrissey, I'm new here. I'm kind of a Twitter refugee but I've wanted to join for a while and finally took the plunge today.

I'm an author, bookbinder and book cover designer, so a lot of my toots will have a bookish theme, but I also promise pics of my beautiful tortie cats once I figure out the mobile app!

I have a really bad habit of turning fun hobbies into jobs and then losing the enjoyment of them as a result. Hacking, soccer, music, etc. are all examples of where this has happened.

I'm trying really hard not to let that happen with #aviation. I will not become an instructor as some have asked. I will not go for a commercial license and I definitely will not be changing careers.

What I am realizing however is how many hidden ways there are that this could happen. It's why I'm not letting myself get sucked down the YouTuber route or doing an aviation podcast series, etc. Anything that becomes a commitment in that way threatens to ruin what right now is just an enjoyable activity.

One of the things I’ve really enjoyed about moving to Mastodon is the sharing of gorgeous #photography. I’m a #photographer who enjoys capturing #nature. Before my #EDS diagnosis, I used to hike, especially over the summer of 2015, when my husband & I drove cross-country to experience all the beauty America has to offer. I miss those days, but I love that I can relive them through the eyes of so many others. #twittermigration
